VINCENT, Los Angeles County — The neighborhood’s long-awaited walking and cycling route along Big Dalton Wash is no longer just a proposal. The Vincent Community Bikeway, also known as Big Dalton Bike Path, opened by March 2025, according to reporting from Streetsblog Los Angeles.

The route includes creekside shared-use paths and protected street connections along streets including Lark Ellen Avenue, Irwindale Avenue and Arrow Highway. It links the unincorporated Vincent area to nearby cities. Caltrans’ 2025 second-half Active Transportation Program report subsequently listed Vincent Community Bikeways as completed.

What residents should know before riding

A completed project is not a guarantee that every gate is open at every hour. LA County’s public bikeway GIS service includes gate status and reasons for closure such as flooding or construction. Use current route signs and the county map, and avoid entering locked flood-control paths.

The route is part of a larger San Gabriel Valley vision for connecting bike and pedestrian corridors; those proposed extensions should not be described as finished.
